Bring your Parents/ Grandparents in Canada

PGP Super Visa

Are you a foreign-born Canadian citizen and you want to bring your parents who are still living in your home country?

The federal government allows Canadian citizens to bring their parents/grandparents to visit for an extended period. Your parents and grandparents will need to apply for a “Super Visa” for that. What’s the big difference between a regular visit visa and a super visa?
Like so many foreign-born citizens, you may miss them dearly and want their company. Or, you want to show off your adopted country or introduce them to their grandkids or your spouse. If a visitor visa is not sufficient enough, then what can you do?
Your visitor can stay up to two years at stretch in a single visit with a super visa whereas they can’t stay up to six months with a regular visitor visa. In addition, they can travel back and forth for ten years with a super visa.
